Location
Migombani Camp is uniquely located at one of the wonders of Tanzania. Built high on a plateau of the escarpment, it provides endless views of Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley.
Mto wa Mbu
Thanks to its central location, Migombani Camp is a welcome place to stay during your safari or just for a weekend trip. Being just outside Mto wa Mbu, a charming town at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, you are close to shops, markets, banks and transport links. Mto wa Mbu means "River of the mosquitoes" in Swahili and is a surprisingly fertile village. It has a representation of more than 25 different tribes, with the total in Tanzania being about 127.
Lake Manyara at your doorstep
In addition, the campsite is the closest accommodation to Lake Manyara National Park, at only a 5 minute drive from the park gate. This means that you can be one of the first visitors in the morning, or the last one to leave the wildlife park! And even at night, when you are comfortably asleep under your canvas, you still might hear the roaring sounds or the laughs of the hyenas.
Ideal base for your safari
For those who would like to visit other national parks, Migombani Camp is still the perfect base. Within 1 hour you can reach Tarangire National Park, known for its incredible large elephant populations. Or head for the opposite direction and in less than 1 hour you will find yourself standing at the rim of the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater!
